1. indeed
Love them all-- the pizza the best I think. The converging lights in the third to last--very nice.

Absolutely love that song too.

Thanks! I feel as if I have been walking, after midnight. I know it is frustrating for you not to be able to enter these!

2. I took these last night and it was only afterward that the title hit me.
I'm glad I couldn't enter this contest, actually. The quality of the entries was brilliant, and I doubt if any of these or anything else I might have entered could be at all competitive.

5. Thanks, Blue.
Fog's a bit of a rarity here. It was nice to take advantage of it despite the rain and the late hour.

4. Ooohhhhh I love these.
Started with the first then ohhhed and awwwed the rest of the way through. Weather looks likes ours tonight too. Can't even choose a favorite though will say I am leaning toward the black and whites a tad bit over the color.

6. Thanks, CC.
So much of the allure of night shooting has been spoiled by these orange-y streetlights in recent years. So I think the color ones mostly suffer for that. I lean toward black & white anyway, and most of these worked better that way.

10. "When in doubt, take the color out"
I think that's going on my gravestone.

13. There's another saying similar to that, but it wouldn't apply.
My gravestone will say in small letters: "you are standing on my head."

8. I guess a tripod is mandatory
Mine's solid, but heavy. What do you use?

9. These were hand-held, though they probably shouldn't have been.
Shutter speeds from 1/500 to 1/50 of a second at f/1.8, ISO 800. The XTi is noisy at that ISO, so I ran noise reduction on both the RAW files and the resulting TIFs (and noticeably, not enough on the first one). I didn't carry a tripod that night because it was raining. One hand for the umbrella and one for the camera with the nearly-weightless plastic fantastic 50mm mounted. Keeper rate was very low out of 190 frames.

I'm thinking of following alfredo's recommendation of a monopod. Would have been useful that night.

11. I can't really pick a favorite, or say too much that is specific. Because the entire
walk is an emotional experience. It involves all the senses, and makes me feel like I'm walking it myself.
Guess that was the point in showing it and it works for me.
