Stalking swarms of vulchers...and no...I'm not making it up
Naturally I know these are not keepsake photos, but I want to share something I never expected to see and photograph.
I was nervous, but not as nervous as I was a bit later when I came across wild boars in the woods with BABIES to protect.

With wingspans of 54 " they were circling as we arrived

There were hundreds of them, don't miss them in the trees

They were not really interested in me, after all I was moving and alive

They walk laughably funny, and their only pretty feature is the white on the wings

He rested a minute before flying up into the tree

Here he goes

And here he settled in

1. Oh, man
Thanks. Is that a turkey vulture? That looks like an amazing site to see. Wow. I am used to that type thing with crows. I am trying to imagine the same thing with vultures. YIKES. Pretty neat, though. Your pics are great at depicting the experience.

3. Creepy....
......they always have such an ominous look. And that wingspan can be intimidating, especially when it's fairly close up.

Thanks for sharing.

5. Incredible. They may not be pretty, but they are impressive.
And I think the last one is a real keeper.
