2. Thanks. Yes I do. I'm just scratching the surface of its capabilities.
BTW, a Monopod really helps in low light situations. It's much lighter than a tripod.

The ripples pictures needed the monopod for stability. It also works as a walking stick in the woods.

4. Promaster 1600. It's a bottom line model. I will add a swivel at a later date.
Something like this.

6. The clarity of your shots inspired me to order a monopod today...
I ordered a "Manfrotto 679B Monopod" and a "Manfrotto 234RC Monopod Head Quick Release." I suffer from the shaky hand, but my tripod rarely accompanies me. This monopod looks like just the thing.

Thanks for the tip!

8. Thanks. I used one many years ago and I liked it. I hate using a flash

outdoors, so the monopod extends the range of available light shots. It really comes in handy with a telephoto lens.

That's a good looking monopod and head.

12. Fantastic shots
Those are fantastic shots. I definitely understand the need for a monopod. I've got the Manfrotto 790B, which I chose for it compact size (15.5" folded, 58" extended). I, too, need to get a swivel head at some point. I've got a shaky hand, which is why I just love image stabilization. But there are definitely times when that isn't enough.

14. I need one due to my arms tiring quickly due to Arthritis. The swivel head
is my next purchase.

I still have my tripod and will use it Friday for our Christmas parade.

10. It was a perfect evening. I wasn't distracted by mosquitos by the pond.
I could relax and frame the shot the way I wanted.

9. Aw Shucks. The best sunsets are the day before a low comes in. When
I saw the Mackerel sky I knew the sunset would be good. It didn't display brilliant reds, but there were more than enough golds.

18. I should be further along. After I got back to the states in 1969 I stopped
taking photos. I stopped for a good twenty five to thirty years.
