2. It's going to be in the mid- to high-40s tomorrow,
Mid-50s by Tuesday, nigh near 60 again in a week. So it's ok. It's already starting to melt!

3. Beautiful alien images
I planted 100 daffodil bulbs in the ground softened by November hurricane Ida's waters and watched by my neighbor dog Norman.
What a huge and diverse country.

7. Looks like you're having some very fine weather!
I remember autumn. It was just two weeks ago! :P Not as pretty as the colors back eat, though. I'm from Massachusetts originally and I really miss the diverse colors of autumn.

5. Lovely shots
That looks really cold. I'm glad it's not like that here. It's raining, raining, and raining here.
How many days of snow do you normally get through the winter? And how many give you that much snow?

6. I'm not a Colorado native,
I've only been here about 9 years. The first 6-7 years I lived here we were in draught, but I don't remember this much snow this early over the past two-3 years. This is our third storm to dump this much snow since Halloween!

15. When I lived in Colorado, west of Colorado Springs,
I remember one year we got three feet the first week of September. I also remember the year my brother was born, 1957, we had snow on his birthdate, May 25. I also remember going picnicking in the mountains the day after Christmas one year. Colorado has very, very volatile weather.

Looks darned cold, too! :scared:

Going hiking at the Presidio with my eldest today; still have pleasant daytime weather here (though it did frost last night)!

:hi:

11. I'm glad you like the b&w!
Edited on Mon Nov-16-09 03:06 PM by intheflow
Of course being digital, the originals were color but they seemed kind of flat. The b&w made them "pop"!

BTW, you are to thank for my posting here, since every. single. time. I post a photo on fb you comment, "Photo Group."

Hiking at the Presidio sounds lovely! I went hiking around there several years back, had some beautiful photo ops! Met a nice Chinese woman who was picking some kind of leafy, lettuce-y weed which she said she was going to boil for a medicinal tea. She had bushels picked! Anyway, enjoy the mild weather and have a nice hike! :hi:

9. Yep, it's c-c-c-c-cold!
We were at -4 early this morning. Made that coffee taste even better as I listened to people shovelling the walks outside!

Lovely pics!

10. I would love to tell you that they are beautiful, but I am barely a month away from dealing with the
white stuff myself and it depresses me. LOL (No, but really, they are just lovely. :))

12. Big difference between the snow here and
New England snow. When it snows in New England, it sticks around for forever, and the cold is wet and damp and seeps into your very bones so you don't get warm again until the end of May. Then, too, it's cloudy in New England from October through May. (Maybe one week of sunny thaw in March, right?) Out here, it's so dry and so sunny, the snow is gone in a day or two, mostly. And it's never so damp it takes up residence in your bones for more than a day. It makes me much more able to appreciate the aesthetic qualities of snow! But I hear you--that New England snow is what made me flee New England! :)

13. Yeah, that's exactly it. But the light here all the rest of the year makes up for it. :^)

My daughter couldn't wait to leave Alaska and escape winter. You guys have had 20 times more snow than we have already this year.

Of course, I realize it melts off and warms back up, and our two inches are probably here to stay, but still....
