1. I can do that!
I don't know the date but it was for the "Trees" contest in 2007 (I think).

...I don't have to think too hard, for too long, or search too far. As it turns out, I feel like I may be simply repeating myself. So here is my Washington DC, Hirshhorn, Needle Tower

and because I do think it's fascinating to see what the tower looks like from the outside, here is a pic from the Hirshhorn Web site..tad tiny, but you get the idea:

I came to this group wanting advice about a camera, and saw the fall contest a year ago. This was my entry, which may have gotten something like two votes in the preliminary contest. Even so, I sort of like the picture. I was going for subtle, LOL. Not a good idea for a fall contest!

One of them is no longer in my PhotoBucket account. I am one of the oldest of old-timers here, it seems. Where's InTheFlow? I think she was here about that time. F.Gordon, regnaD kciN, ConsAreLiars taught me everything I know.

Here are the other two taken with the old Mavica.

When did you come in here, Matt? Seems to me you must have come in between January 2006-July 2007. That was really my lost year when I was working hurricane recovery and stopped taking photos because the only things around to take photos of was more wreckage from the storm--depressing!

37. "Lovely Plumage" (Parrot Tulip) - posted May 9, 2005...

The story: I had long since "retired" my 35mm equipment when I picked up a digital compact in 2003, but mainly used it for family pictures and the like until superconnected convinced me to join her on a shoot at Roozengarde in the Skagit valley on April 28, 2005. It was the beginning of my photo addiction -- in the two years previous, I had shot barely 1,000 images; in the next eight months, over 3,600. This photo was the first in my follow-up post to superconnected's thread on the shoot, now lost to time (as the archives don't stretch back that far). The only reason I know this was the first was because I added this post to my journal back when the thread was still accessible.

...and, I believe, it wouldn't go back any further than 1/1/06. I did check it some time ago -- I didn't need to do so this time, because I remember my first post here, and saved it in my journal long ago, so I only had to check that.
