1. I want everyone to use a Smokey Robinson song
but that's just me.

What's interesting to me about this theme is that it builds bridges in the viewers' minds to music, even with the stipulation that the photo need only share a title with a song. How far to take that, such as with a link to YouTube or elsewhere, I'm not too sure.

My inclination was no links, but it seemed worth a little discussion. The vote confirms my inclination.

Biggest drag is that I can't enter this contest. But I got some stuff I'd consider if I could.

Night Moves:

Piggies:

Bringing In the Sheaves:

2. And we shall come rejoicing...bringing in the sheaves...
to this contest, that is. :D

Nice work, as always.

3. I'm drawing such a blank on this contest,
I don't even know where to start. I may sit this one out.

4. I bet when the submissions start trickling in you will suddenly
have light bulb moments.
I have one that presented itself out of the blue which I feel I am obliged to use because of how I came upon it.

So much for the "Tequila makes her clothes fall off" photo.
I guess it's history now

:(

10. I hope you're not...
I hope you're not going to sit this one out. Your photos are great. If you're drawing a blank, are you just concentrating on songs you like or are really familiar with? If it helps, here's here's a few songs whose titles are fairly general:
In The Air Tonight
Electric Avenue
I'm So Excited
Jump
Sail Away
The Pot
And one that's relevant to your latitude:
Ice Ice Baby

12. Artists
Edited on Wed Nov-11-09 03:20 AM by HappyCynic
Glad you liked the last one. I should have previewed my post, though. I added the artist names after the song titles using square brackets but it looks like it thought they were html tags and removed them. (Note that the square brackets work fine in the subject heading, just not the message portion.) Here's the list again with the artists in case anyone's interested:
In The Air Tonight - Phil Collins
Electric Avenue - Eddy Grant
I'm So Excited - Pointer Sisters
Jump - Van Halen
Sail Away - Enya
The Pot - Tool
Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice

Well, now you don't have any excuses to avoid trying to get an entry for the contest. :P

15. Actually, last night I thought of photos I have
that go with "I Can See for Miles and Miles" (The Who) and "You Can Go Your Own Way" (Fleetwood Mac). Now I just need to decide which one to use.

Thanks for getting my brain in gear. You really helped.

16. Glad to be of help
Wonder if anyone will use some of those song titles. I think I have my entry decided on (well, I have to sort through some shots to pick the exact photo) but there's also one or two dumb ones I want to shoot for posting to the "not going to use" thread. I wonder if this theme is the first to have a thread dedicated to non-entries?

19. Sounds good, ONLY IF
There is a chipmunk in the mouth!! A mouse will do, as long as the neck is being broken with the teeth.

:)

Catless now, but I've had a few of these wonderful animals! Psycho killer, indeed.

5. Well, I had to go and see if I knew the song or what:
As I was humming, "Bringing in the...WHAT?" I googled it to see if it is the song I know, and yes it is.
All my American Life I thought it was "Bringing in the sheep".

I never even knew the word "sheaves".
Always learning.

I like the night moves photo fiercely, and the pigs are nicely presented and a great color.
Don't know either of those songs.

But I did know the "bringing in" song and now it will be in my head for a good while to come.

6. 'Scuse me while I kiss this guy?
Edited on Tue Nov-10-09 04:55 PM by Blue_In_AK
I always laugh at how people hear lyrics because I'm so guilty of that myself. I was way past my hippie years before I accurately heard "There's battle lines being drawn," in Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth." I always thought it was a pair of lines, which didn't make any sense at all.

That must be Pat Robertson's version.

13. Do you think anyone will enter
"Washed in the Blood of the Lamb"?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJlM3B7L4-0

A picture for that could knock the Sweet Home Alabama controversy out of the water. The only time I saw my father's mother laugh uncontrollably was when I made that request on Hymn night at the resort were were staying at in the Rockies. I had just looked through the book and come across that title, and, uh, at ten years old or so, it looked interesting.
