9. That's a Tamorn 350mm 5.6, right?
If so it's still a 5.6 regardless of the format. The f number is the focal length divided by the diameter of the lens (or aperture). f numbers are expressed as the denominator, i.e. a 50mm lens with a max diameter of 25mm is an F 2.0. The 4/3 format is 1/2 the area of the 35mm full frame hence the doubling of the magnifying power of telephoto lenses as compared to their use on a full frame camera.

So, yes, it is the equivalent of 700mm on a full frame camera but it is still a 5.6.

That's a great shot. How far away were you from the critter? And dare I ask how much that setup is? I know the 4/3 cameras aren't cheap.

6. The GF1 can be found for under $900. The lens, that's where the big
bucks come in. Looks like a Cassegrain.
