Which of these should I submit to the Autumn Contest?

Hello! I'm very new here and have decided to be bold and enter into the Autumn contest. When I think of Autumn, I think of warm, yummy comfort food and wine.

I would appreciate any thoughts / critiques on my shots.

And now I'm going to go eat my 'Autumn Dinner.'

1. Hello, Sacred Fire. I can barely remember being as new as you are, though I see

you are not that "new" around here, just very quiet.
I suspect it's nerve wracking to you to step out and submit photos. You have really nice ones, that spell autumn to me as well in colors and theme. I like the first one best, and voted for it, because it has the interesting angles, and if by chance you have cropped the photo, and could re-crop and show a bit more of the bread, then it would be an even more pronounced tiered effect.

Congratulations for having the courage to ask and hopefully enter. It's filling up, so stay on top of it and don't lose what could be your place.
In my time here it is the slowest to fill up contest, but don't let it fool you, there may be people hanging back and watching, ready to claim theirs.

for such a lovely and warm welcome! Mira, I must say, that I am a fan of your photos, as well as many others on here. You all have been an inspiration for me to pick up my camera again.

I took your advice and found a slightly better shot of my first photo. It includes more bread and there is a flower that less in the shadow of the bowl. I think this one is better of the two.

When I came here a year ago, to this forum, it was not that I was encouraged to pick up my camera again, it was that I had found people outside the family whom I could haunt with my constant photos.

What I learned from the feedback, or from NOT having feedback, has been invaluable.

On that plane, it has been the most valuable learning year of my life.

I like your new version, but don't misunderstand, I liked the others as well, I just found them a little less interesting in their presentation.

It would show a lot better if you could get it bigger in the contest entry. See how much smaller your photo looks?

I'm so happy I entered a photo into the contest and I am very appreciative of the warm welcomes and for those who voted in the poll.

I think I figured out the size adjustments. I was just too tired last night to figure it all out. Now that the contest is locked, I hope they will still use the larger version. Either way, I entered and that's what matters the most to me right now!

Now... I'm off to work on the next contest for 'named after a song'
