Gold and Golden
A guy who seemed cheerful inside his get-up, and who graciously allowed me to take his picture

And a rusty old guy in my front yard smiling in a lake of golden leaves.

Both guys to me are not exactly harbingers of better times ahead.

1. That first one
makes me laugh. Looks kind of like a Star Wars action figure - maybe Darth Vader going as C3-P0 for Halloween.

2. Have you checked the price of gold lately?
Maybe if people start lining up to sell gold, that is the indication of a top. I wonder how busy they are!

I have to say that I have seen a lot of people like this marketing various stores here going out of business, having sales, etc. No, not a good sign.

I think the snowman with the pumpkin face is kinda cute.

4. If they were busy, they would not need the guy on the corner, I think.
People sell their gold because it is at an all time top and they are at an all time bottom.
The reason it is not busy is probably because they already sold it............

I've been watching that guy thinking about how to approach him to take his picture. It's more difficult when you cannot see even the eyes of who is inside. So I parked very obviously and approached him making it clear for him to see that is was he I was seeking out, and then asked permission.
He was cheerful in spite of his awful job.

3. Love the second. The first is pretty disconcerting
as is the frequency of "cash for gold" TV commercials I'm seeing these days.
