I've seen his posts here and there but I didn't see anything disruptive. I guess I can host if Giovanni doesn't want to, although I know absolutely nothing about how to do it. This would probably be a good one for me to sit out since I wasn't all that excited about my entry (your praise to the contrary, F.Gordon). Should I wait a couple days to see if Giovanni checks in?

I've been here eight months and have only had one message deleted, I think because I told someone to shut up (it was a Kerry-bashing thread if I remember right). Anyway, do not fear ... I will continue to be my sweet self.

I went after that a-hole Seventhson (sp?) who turned out to be a freeper. Oh, and I had a thread locked in the photogroup.

Was there something funky going on in that thread? Why didn't the mods delete the prelim thread as well?

6. F., I doubt that it had anything to do with photo group...

More likely it was something in GD or the Lounge. I know I was shocked when LongGrain got tombstoned, too, because he always seemed so low key, but I guess he got somebody offended.

I can't believe he was TS'd! Well, I never knew him outside of here, so who knows what he was up to.

But maybe this thread was deleted becasue of my visual pun of bowing down to Algomas? Will I be under suspicion now, too? :yoiks:

But it might also be a bug. My mutant flowers post was deleted not long ago? That was just a bug after all.

15. Got an email from Algomas.....

I'll just summarize. It seems that the Curse of the Haunted Photography Group continues....

"He has contacted the admins but hasn't heard back from them. Has no idea why he was tombstoned. Hopes to get reinstated soon. Passes along his apologies for flaking out on the contest and expresses his thanks to Blue in AK for rescuing it."

Just a FYI for everyone.

I also noticed a post removed from the prelim thread. I certainly hope we don't have self-appointed wannabe "thought police" lurker hanging out here with an itchy Alert Button finger. I read every single post here and I've never seen anything out-of-bounds.

16. Hmm....amazing coincidence...

It was after my daughter posted her first contest entry here that her account was temporarily locked.... (with a generic message about not following the rules that didn't give her any clue about what she might have done).

We were in the process of figuring out how to contact the admins to see why, when she decided to try logging in again. The message was gone, without any acknowledgment or explanation as to why she had been temporarily tombstoned.

Maybe this group really is haunted...

Let's hope Algomas' tombstoning is as easily resolved.

17. As I suspected...

I do quite a bit of reading on DU and never saw anything even remotely disruptive about any of Algomas's postings. I hope he can come back soon. I thought it was very bizarre that in "tombstoning" Algomas the whole thread disappeared. It's not like it was some sort of "flame-bait" topic or anything.
