What brand of camera do you shoot with?

Just wondering what everyone uses.

I use a Nikon D70 digital SLR.

1. I have a Sony Mavica CD400

courtesy of my husband's ex-wife. :evilgrin: I like it for the convenience of having the photos saved to a disk, but someday I'd like a camera with $800 lenses and stuff.

3. My digital is an Olympus C-700

It's 2.1 megapixal with a 10 X optical zoom. My film camera is a Minolta SRT 101 system I got in 1969. I still us it on occasion.

I am looking to get a higher resolution digital.

17. I'm using the C-750

with 4.0 Megapixel and 10X optical zoom.
The 10X optical zoom and the capability for lens attachments is what sold me on this camra.
I really like it!

19. It was the 10 X zoom that sold me. No attachments though.

My other option at the time was a 3 megapixel with out the zoom. 3 megapixel was the highest resolution available at the time.

41. I just got the C-765 last night. The zoom is what sold me too!

I had a nice 35mm with a zoom lens, which was stolen a couple years ago, along with all the filters and other accessories. I never had the money to replace it all. The lens I had was a $800 zoom, which I got used for $350. *sigh* But I absolutely LOVE zoom shooting, so I was primarily looking for a camera in my price range that would have that capability.

Not having a fancy brand doesn't mean jack squat. You take good pictures, that's all that matters :).

Hell, I only have my D70 because my boss paid for it :).

On continuously for almost 2½ hours. I took 190 pictures @ 5meg, including using the flash. Got home and download the pictures from the camera into the computer and it was still going. I have never run down the battery on this camera.

I had considered that.... but Ms FG insists that she is comfortable with my focal length and filter diameter size. :P Anyway.... if it ever does become an issue I hear you can buy inexpensive focal extensions.

For me...it was a screw retirement thing. We are resolved in the fact that retirement isn't going to happen so I figured if I'm going to have to work till I take the long nap I might as well enjoy it. :)

In the long run it is also probably much cheaper than a Zoloft Rx and Therapy. :crazy: When I wander off by myself to take a few snapshots it is an incredibly healing kinda' thing.

Your ice cubes pic is good. There are a lot of good ones posted, so competition will be close I think.

I have a good theme I could suggest for August...buildings or city skylines. I dunno if that one has been used already tho.

BTW. Your poll? Besides the Fuji One-Shot that I really do use... have a Nikon Point and Shoot and a Canon DSLR. Didn't want you to think that I was a complete ass for doing that Fuji post.

I would love to see an architecture theme. Skylines might be hard for those that live in rural or smaller town areas.

And yes.... there are a TON of fantastic Water Photos. Should be interesting. :D

I did buy a very small cigarette pack size Gateway camcorder/digital camera I have been toying with just to dabble w/ the digital transfer process and become acquainted w/ the tools. I am from the old school, as a matter of fact, a security inspector at the airport looked at my Nikon 35 and said, "Oh, that's an antique camera!" Well, I guess we are. Hence, my handle. Digital is a Sony Mavica CD, but I just use it for snapshots. My K1000's are workhorses, hiking & camping there's nothing better.

I like the Mavica a lot, but there's some things I just can't do even with the adaptors and lenses I have. Maybe when I get like "really" old and don't have to worry about saving money for the future, I'll just blow what I have left and get myself something really extravagant. The kids can take care of themselves. :evilgrin: They don't need no inheritance....

Sorry for bumping this. I came over here today curious about what people were using and here was this poll lol! I can't believe I'm the only Minolta user.

I use a Minolta X-700. Film and all manual. Yes, I know I'm weird lol. :P I have a Nikon N65 and a Pentax, um can't think what it is and I'm not digging it out to look. Can't stand either one of them and I never use them.

49. My new one is a Konica Minolta A200

My old digital, which still works wonderfully, is a Kodak. It's only a 2 MP though, that is now 5 years old. It's simply not powerful enough for my return to photography.

My SLRs are both Minolta, my oldest is an SRT SC-II, and the one my sister gave to me is a Maxxum 300SI, which is almost completely an automatic, which is why I don't particular like it. Give me an old manual any day.

The new digital is an 8.3MP, which is supposed to give me wickedly clear and high res photos. I'm hoping! I'm going on a weekend trip next weekend (Oct 1) to test it out in an area I'm pretty familiar with. I'll see if it rivals the film camera when I get home.
