1. Very pretty
I have to say it does look like an avalanche waiting to happen. That is a bit of snow piled up on a steep slope. It makes for a great picture--sort of thrilling. I don't think I would attempt a hike to the top, but I sure do like looking at it.

4. You're right about the avalanche...
I hadn't even noticed that till you mentioned it!

I love looking at it, and thanks!

9. Yep, definitely a lot of exciting tension waiting for that snow to come crashing down on you.

2. Gorgeous
I love the little bit of cloud at the summit. Great job on the exposure with all that white!

5. Thank you, my dear Maestro...
Ah, the pleasures of Photoshop...

I had the camera on auto...

This picture will be on our holiday card this year.

3. That's really special. How did you make it up so far to take
this beautiful picture?

6. My dear Mira!
We took a Swiss train to the highest railway platform in Europe!

It's a cogwheel rail, and very popular...

I posted my vacation pics earlier this spring in the Lounge, and they are in my Journal.

Thanks for your very kind words, sweetie!

7. That's up in the Jungfrau? I've got some pics of that (Eiger?) from the lower angles
looking up from slopes that we were snowboarding on. If this is the Jungfrau train, what an amazing place, huh? I love it there. One of the most peaceful and powerful places I have ever been. And nothing better after a day of snowboarding in light, fresh, Swiss powder than a big mug of dark beer and fondue!!

Gorgeous picture, Peggy!!

8. I believe you're correct!

It was a train that ran on a cogwheel track. We stopped a couple of times to get out of the train, to accustom ourselves a bit to the altitude.

I LOVED it there.

Thank you for your very kind comments!

ETA: It's not the Eiger; it's the Monk. (spelling?)
