7. It might help if they painted all the way round
Or is there a union rule against painting on the south side?

2. I think this is actually necessary, bloody funny, but necessary.
A twisted ankle from something like that has cost me about 1000 bucks since last August

(yes I was insured with an accident rider, and though the deductible was lower, I did not have a "hardware" rider which also has a deductible and I had to pay for a very expensive fancy boot - a minor thing compared to what others suffer but a symptom of the larger picture, and utterly enraging when you think you are insured)

and no, the color alone is not enough warning in my opinion.

3. That particular solution struck me as funny
Not making light of potential injury. Hope your foot has healed ok, Mira.

There were holes everywhere, most surrounded by cones or barricades. I guess they missed this one and someone decided to take matters into their own hands. Or maybe there was a cone at one time, but it was removed by a drunken reveler and placed on the head of a nearby statue? That seems to be a traditional pass-time on Friday nights in Glasgow.

4. I'm very literal, and should always ask for surrounding details, but I still think
it is dangerous.
And no my foot will never be quite alright. All I did is step down 6 inches the wrong way, while I was not looking.
So I totally love the humor in the contraption, I don't find humor in the danger.

5. Beware, it can get even worse!
I heard the other day there are 4000 holes in Blackburn, Lancashire!

On the brighter side, now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall...

6. It's hard to believe they counted them all, even if they were rather small.

Speaking of the House of Lords, someone found the Duke of Wellington's hat:
