Got some great suggestions! They are all listed below in the order they were received.

I'll leave this poll open through Friday. Vote away! :hi:

2. Kickin' back up.
Only one more day to decide what you want to the theme to be for the August contest.

I just came across this. It's the first pic I entered last year in one of the contests (the turtle was only my second.) I can't remember what the theme was now.

Birdhouse Gourds Growing on an Old Wooden Ladder

3. Have no idea what "matter of time" is
Edited on Fri Aug-07-09 06:53 AM by Celebration
But I just voted for it, LOL, despite having a gazillion green photos. Green will be difficult in a way that red was not. It almost will have to have a hook besides plants with chlorophyll, even plants with chlorophyll reflected in water, even more than different shades of chlorophyll on a mountain, with a waterfall, reflected in a pool of water. I don't know what the winner of green will be, but there will probably be an unexpected twist contained in the picture. Maybe I will submit a bird surrounded by green. That is hardly unexpected, though. Hmmmm.

5. heh!
Just try competing with my "green" entry. I put my litter against your waterfall any day.

Entitled-- Please, please don't be a litterbug, 'cause every litter bit hurts.
(for the boomer set!!) Did I start an earworm anyone?

Now maybe people will put "Matter of Time" over the top! I'm already tired of green.

6. A Matter of Time
Probably a bit late for it to matter, but my original thought when I submitted this as a suggestion was that it would leave it open to interpretation. However, I could think of several ways to approach this:

1. Literal - Clocks, sundials, calendars, etc.
2. Age - Something that shows the passage of time or the effects of time. (eg. portrait of several people, each of whom represents a different generation, effects of aging on people, machines, plants, etc.)
3. Anticipatory - Along the lines of "it's only a matter of time before..." (eg. a predator poised to pounce, a rock teetering on a precipice, etc.)

There's probably many more interpretations but those are the general three I was thinking of.

I hope this helps.

10. I'm so inspired!!
I started yesterday, at the DMV--

Bobblehead

Walmartesque Decor

Green Space-Unlandscaped

Sprig

Ever notice how many people wear bright green shirts?

Topped off at the park when I saw a dude with a St. Paddy's Day shirt. I took that as a sign to embrace Green

14. Red seemed like a bigger challenge to me, but I'll say this
At the DMV, when I told one dude that I was taking a photo of everything green, he said, man, now I am looking at everything differently, I'm looking for everything green. I have many more that I didn't post. How about a green chair?

A DMV person was very suspicious of what I was doing, because the media has been all over them about a scandal where some employees were taking "tips" from County Commission people for overlooking no inspections. I assured them that I was just a bored customer, waiting for my number to be called.

All those carts so clumped together looked kinda arty and cool! I'll probably go for an entry other than taken at the DMV, or a St. Paddy's shirt, but I haven't ruled out the litter. I get so bored waiting around at the DMV. It gave me something to do, looking for chairs, bobbleheads, etc.
