Happy Solstice, everyone!
I braved the elements this morning (it's right around 0 here) to get you guys a solstice sunrise, but I was foiled by the fog once again. This is the best I could do. Happy solstice, anyway. :)

3. I'm so happy to see
that I'm not the only crazy person who steps outside in the snow in her bare feet. There have been a couple of times when I've almost frozen myself to the front porch.

5. Magnificent!
And the best part? I can appreciate the beauty of these scenes without stepping outside, let alone moving to Alaska!

7. Thank you, Uppity.
I bet that's beautiful in the summer. I'm happy to say that we gained 36 seconds of daylight today. :)

9. Blue
Have you ever been to Kenai? If so, what are the differences in Homer and Kenai? The year I spent the summer up there I wanted to make it to Kenai, but there was so much to see and do in Homer I never made it.

10. Yes, I've been to Kenai,
but we usually blow right through there -- or actually Soldotna, which is on the highway -- on our way to Homer since that's where my brother lives. Kenai itself, the town, isn't much to see, but there's a great recreational area back there, the Captain Cook State Recreation Area, which we've been meaning to spend more time exploring. You may remember that you turn right at Soldotna to get to Kenai, and then if you go through town the recreational area is to the north. Here's some info.
