Christmas goodies........Texas-style
Took the grandkids to the North Pole Express train ride, similar to the Polar Express.

Evening came quick, the temps dropped like a rock, and there weren't many takers for those time-honored, Texas-style, Christmas goodies. You know.......Reindeer Corn Dogs and Egg Nog Lemonade. Mmmmm-mmmmm, good.

Even got a good, clear, night-time shot, without the tripod.

4. Icons of the state fair
Fletcher's Corn Dogs first debuted at the Texas State Fair about 70 years ago. Now, you can even buy them frozen, for year-round consumption.

Ironically, one of the Fletcher family members (21-yo Amber Fletcher) was recently kidnapped in the Dallas area, but released unharmed, by people who knew her family connection to their corn dog empire. (Police later denied that the ransom request included a year's supply of corny dogs.) OK.....that part was untrue, but the rest is all fact. Main thing........the young woman was released unharmed, and the suspects have been arrested.

6. .....many thanks!
Appreciate the kind words, especially coming from someone who has posted so many wonderful shots here.

I've told myself several times over the past 6 months that I need to really get out there and "play" with my camera during the night time, and in low light situations. Just never seem to get around to it. But because the corny dog stand was so colorful, I thought it would be a good subject to shoot. I really wasn't all that optimistic, though, when I took the picture. But, sometimes we can all be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks, again.
