Phoenix Gold Mine
I have a friend visiting from Berlin this month, and I have been showing him around the beautiful state of Colorado. We went on a tour of a real gold mine this weekend. It was very interesting, hearing a 3rd-generation miner telling us all about this mine and how the miners have worked it for over 100 years.

It was 45 degrees inside the mine, which actually felt warm, as it was snowing outside. All of the photos taken inside the mine were taken in near-total or total darkness.

2. Yep, that's for sure!
On a side note, can you believe that guy is only 59? I thought he was at least 75, maybe 80. Working in the mines sure ages you fast.

4. Really? Yikes. I expect him to say "tarnation" all the time,
but that's just me...maybe "consarnit!"
