4. Thank You
He's been hanging around our gardens a lot for the past two or three weeks. I am fortunate to work at home, and when I see him hanging around I grab the camera and hope he'll be cooperative.

I love nature photography. There are always interesting subjects to shoot. And we usually have 4 distinct seasons here in southern Maryland, so it's fun to catch the seasonal changes, even the ones just outside my office window.

and ponds, so we have giant dragonflies! But they never sit still long enough anywhere to get a picture of them. It's too bad, because they only live out in the air for one season, and then they cross the dragonfly bridge. :(

I only wish I had taken this picture!

6. Aren't They Magnificent!
I think insects are so beautiful. Dragonflies are one of my favorites, too. We have a species of either dragonfly or damselfly here that has red bars at the end of its wings. I haven't been able to get close enough to one to shoot it yet, but I am always on the alert!

7. Very nice.
I don't think I saw one butterfly here this summer because it's been so cold, so I really appreciate these photos.

11. Beautiful.
I think about this time of year all those type of butterflies tend to be a bit ragged. At least they seem to be here.

Keep taking pictures please. I can't go out and enjoy my flowers anymore and chase butterflies. And this is the time of year mine seem to be their fullest and prettiest.

12. I Could Hog a Lot of Bandwidth
I have shot hundreds of butterflies, bees and flowers in our gardens during the past few weeks. I'll put some more here when I have a few minutes to spare.

I'm glad you enjoy my photos. I really love taking them.

golden butterfly bush next spring. They have the prettiest yellow flowers on your photos. I have the dark purple, a pink and a couple white ones but I love that yellow. You second picture reminds me of Joe Pye Weed but I won't swear to it. I have one in my garden though that the butterflies and bees love. All the pictures are beautiful. I am hoping but the end of the week they have some kind of cast on my left foot so that when it cools off some I can at least get outside for a bit. I am going to have to tell/get the SO to do some of my fall garden task.

Watch for the monthly contest. You have lots of up close photos that are winners.
