3. That's what I love about them.
They're all over in my vegetable garden. They add so much color and cheer.

5. I love your flower photos.
I've never been to Alaska and have always wanted to go, but your photos push it up my itinerary.

Is this the best time for the flowers and weather?

6. It's a good time for the flowers,

but usually a little on the damp side this time of year. We usually have our nicest weather early in the summer, May-June (with this year being a very depressing exception), but the flowers don't have a chance to mature until later in the summer. Actually, a lot of people buy already-blooming annuals and set them out early in the summer, but it takes a while for the perennials to come on strong.

Anchorage is a very flower-friendly city. We have a "city of flowers" program, and beautiful flower beds are laid out all over town in the spring. The plants are started in the city greenhouse timed so that they will be blooming by late May, then they're put in the ground just in time for the tourists. :)
