Has anyone gone back to using their film camera?
i have had it with my canon powershot, it broke and they fixed it but it's not working the same so i'm done with it, i have an old Canon Rebel and i think i'm going back to that. I've also had a fuji finepix, that also died after about 1000 pictures, maybe it's me, maybe i make bad camera choices but i think i'm done with digital for awhile.

1. Nope...
After using digital for a very short time, I decided that I will never take another film pic...

The freedom of digital speaks to me more clearly than film ever did...

No worries about airport xrays...

No worries about how much film to carry...

No stopping to change rolls...

No developing fees...

Instant gratification on the computer!

I have a Nikon D50 camera with a Tamron lens, and I love it/them!

:hi:

2. Nope.
I still have my old film camera and will probably not get rid of it but I rarely use it. My very first digital was a Nikon something point and shoot and it still works. My first DSLR was the D100 and it is still going strong. I have upgraded but have a hard time letting go of that first. I plan on having the D100 converted to full time infrared one of these days though.

I love the immediate feedback digital gives me and the two less steps in processing. Development and scanning eats up a lot of time when you are trying to load a lot of photos. I am willing to take more risk with shots when I know they aren't costing me anything except time.

3. It Sounds Like You're Talking About Point & Shooters
And it's funny because my first digital camera (an HP 618, purchased when 2 MP was a huge deal) frustrated me so much that I went to eBay and started buying 35mm manual SLR film cameras and lenses.

Currently I've got a Fuji Finepix S6000fd that I love, and at some point will upgrade to a real SLR digital. But for now this bridge camera allows me enough to control to be content with it for most shooting scenarios.

maybe i just got a lemon but i am super frustrated, this was not inexpensive and i'm really unhappy with it. My old Canon Rebel still works really well, i don't know if canon started sucking or i just got a bad one but i will not buy another one.

5. Bummer
That looks fairly similar to what I use.

I've been sorely tempted to snag a Fuji 100fs, but think I'm going to find a 2nd hand DSLR on eBay in the not-too-distant future, instead.

6. No. It tends to scratch the film, and I don't have a scanner of any form
now that I'm out of school.

Besides, my new DSLR is simply as good as film for my purposes.

7. I realy haven't
My old film camera committed suicide by leaping from my hands to the cold marble floor of a museum. I've been using a Nikon digital SLR ever since.

The money I've saved on developing photos has paid for it several times over by now. Add to that what I've learned by experimenting more than I'd ever have done with film and I cant ever see going back. Maybe I've been lucky but My digital cameras has been rock solid.

8. No bloody way!

I used to shoot 35 -- first a Minolta SR-T200, then a Canon A-1. When digital came along, I started with a Nikon Coolpix, then moved up to a Konica Minolta 5D and Sony A-100. None of the digital cameras have given me a bit of trouble.

A couple of years after going digital, I decided I wanted my old images on the computer as well, so I bought a scanner and started the laborious process of transferring years of 35mm slides and negs. And, do you know what I found out? Most of those slides and negs that looked so good in a magnified viewer or as 4x6 "jumbo" prints were out-of-focus. Not horribly so, of course, but soft, lacking that last little bit of sharpness that really shows up when printing larger than, say, 5x7.

By comparison, unless I tried something stupid like hand-holding a long exposure, my digital files have been "tack-sharp," and seem to hold up better in the color resolution area as well. No going back for me!
