12. Technically, mine isn't a ship...
Edited on Wed Jun-18-08 10:57 PM by Blue_In_AK
It's a boat -- a dead fishing boat, to be exact.

6. Now it's too small for my bifocal-assisted eyes!
If you can get it up to 800 pixels wide on the horizontal and add a little more compression to the jpeg, you should be able to get it under the 200k file size threshold.

It appears you used a wide angle lens? If you did, it adds movement to the image.

That photo was taken at the Western Railway Museum in Suisun CA, not far from San Francisco. They specialize in electric cars and have a couple of miles of the old San Francisco to Sacramento line working to take the cars out and give people rides.

My wife pretty much grew up there, her dad was quite the train buff and volunteered at the museum for many years. This photo is from his memorial, after the museum was closed we took his ashes for one last ride in his favorite car.

46. The buggies were not cooperating
this past couple weeks so had to go a different way. Now watch all the buggies come out. I don't know much about old cars but the SO went nuts on it so figure it would be work ok. I really really wanted a buggy and still kicking myself for not having a camera when there was one at the drive through at the McDonald's.

48. My father was the top upholsterer for antique autos in the east.
Several of his cars were grand national champs, he was well known in the auto community. The editor of Car Craft Magazine gave the eulogy at his funeral.

One of his cars was on display in the Museum of Science in Boston.

51. We have a guy down the street that does
upholstery, mostly antique cars and his son paints. If you dad's storage area was like this guys wow. He has old original stuff straight from the factories that has been kept in pristine shape. My I am just not into cars enough to listen for hours but the SO loves to go down there and just listen to stories. I have a feeling your dad must of loved doing it since he was that good. Neat on the museum display. Have you gone to see the car?

53. Yes, I saw it with some friends. That was back
in the sixties. Most likely it has undergone further restoration, and been sold a few times.

Dad worked on one just like this 1904 Renault, same color.

This will be exciting! It was a lot harder picking my entry than I thought it would be. I wanted to enter a shot of the train oil cars parked on the train tracks under a freeway overpass. They were there for days. But by time I got there the oil cars were gone.It just wasn't the same without the round black oil cars.
