(Turkey vultures.) Actually, that one looks like a black vulture.

4. So, That's what those little black spots in the sky

look like with a telephoto lens! - good aim and nicely done, wjms! and yep, looks like a black vulture.

Those critters appeared here by the dozens about a month ago and are hangin' out around the neighborhood (hope they aren't waiting for me). Love to watch them soar and swoop and circle. They seem to have some difficulty landing and leaving the ground, though. Do this funny little run, skip and hop like it's their first day of pilot training.

I've got a bunch of on and near the ground photos of them, but nothing like yours - Here's one that freaked me out. I'm clickin' away, then notice the light pole s/he's sitting on is numbered 36 (3 6's??- yikes!) - time to move on...
