Firefighters in action photo
Inspired by Robb's contest entry, I went rummaging through some old photos and scanned this into my computer. I took it when I worked as a cop reporter in Southern California back in 1999. Film, of course.
The firefighters were battling a brush fire off of I-15, just outside San Bernardino. Then a spot fire flared up in the middle median, and I ran behind the firefighters to grab this photo as the CHP officer was yelling at me to come back.

1. Who Dares Wins
/SAS

Good pictures are easy to get, the great pictures almost always involve a lot of effort/risk

2. As Robert Capra said shortly before stepping on a landmine
and killing himself...

"If your pictures are not good enough, you are not close enough."

6. The way I see it
Spit washes off. A picture is permanent.
