1. Here's my honest opinion
D'OOOOOHHHHH!!!!!!!

I'd been thinking about using this one:

But hadn't decided for sure. You've convinced me now to go with something else. I certainly can't compete with what you've got here.:o

2. Hey...you know what they say about great minds!
Don't you just love the grins on both those dogs? They just love the waves!

For the record though, I took almost 650 photos today to get that one stand-out shot. :)

4. It's a fine one
You're right, the joy of a dog running on a beach is, well, a joy to watch. And it's a bonus to capture the moment in a photograph.

8. Same suggestion as for Left . . .
Try croping the dog into the lower left quadrant like this:

You lose a lot of pixels, but this is a nice crisp shot and can survive it.

Just an opinion, and ya' know 'bout them--everbody has one & most folks think it smells . . .

14. Not seeing the image
but I think I know what you're getting at.

In any case, I've decided that "this dog won't hunt".

21. No, that's from what I like to call cogitation
but others would call staring slack-jawed into space for excessive periods of time.

17. Dang. If the theme this month were "dogs running on beaches"
The three of us would kick some ass.

5. Thanks Peggy!
I'm sure there will be some major competition though. There are some awesome photographers on DU and I'm still pretty new at it.

:hi:

6. Really really nice.
I might crop to move the dog & reflection to the lower right hand corner a bit and flatten the histogram some but that's just personal taste.

7. Thanks for the advice!
The only thing I've done to the picture at this point is to resize if from the original 4mb size! :)

10. How about
this crop...

I think it makes it stronger, and I know you have the image size to do it better than this

11. Cool. I tend to get caught up in the classic rectangle format. I should
learn to think outside the box more often now that digital viewing has no real constraints.

16. That's a good idea for a crop!
I just spent the last 1/2 hour trying to crop it and wasn't happy with the result. I think I'll give it a rest for tonight, but this gives me some more to think about. Many thanks!

12. That's very nice!
As others have suggested, I might try cropping out the foregournd a bit. But I'm an inveterate cropper, it's usually the first thing I do when looking at my own images. These guys who try to never crop, who compose in-camera, I'm not anywhere near that point yet (not even sure it's that good of an idea, anyway).

13. well, it is a great goal, and it helps a lot
if you can do it.

It is lots better to crop out a little to improve a good image than take a poor image and crop it to make it usable.
