Maestro's 2006 retrospective (56K ultra beware)

Well I couldn't decide on which 12 pictures to use so I used more. Sorry.

January saw me trying out some Depth of Field shots, but other than that, I really didn't take too many pictures.


February was a bit better. However, it was slow again. I did snap this nice photo of my daughter. She will show up again this year.


March picks up a bit..I turned to nature plus I tried my first cityscape photo.


Buds and Bugs


Dallas, Texas as seen from across the Trinity River looking from the Oak Cliff area of Dallas.


April saw me again taking mostly nature shots. Here is a nice shot of an onion plant.


May was very slow. Nonetheless I took this picture of some Black-eyed Susans from our garden.


June was about the kids...






July was a good month.

First the family went to Austin to show the kids the Capitol. Here are two from the inside of the Capitol.

The sparrows were very active in July as well.


Some were even having youngins


Butterflies were everywhere. This is gulf fritillary.


August didn't see much happening but I did take these shots of the cattle out back and my rusty fence post.

September saw the hummingbirds return to Maestro's backyard!




October had me playing with my macro lens.




November was all about family.








December was a good month since I got my first hawk in flight pics and some other good shots.


Can't forget Christmas and kids.






I am a very fortunate person. Looking back on 2006 made me realize this. Sure, I've got problems, but it could be a whole heckuva lot worse. Here is hoping 2007 is even better!

I can't wait to see what you put together next year. BTW, this is a good point to tell you about a disease among photographers, hobbyists and professionals alike. It's called lens lust. Once you buy one new lens, you can't stop. It's horrible. I've bought three just this year!

Buds and Bugs is amazing...soft and organic yet sharp and angular all at once.

I adore the toothless grin shot! Always astounding how quickly those gaps fill in- good timing on that one!

This was a case of "love the photos, hate the dial-up" -- it actually took so long, the connection timed-out and disconnected me once.

The macros are great, the Senate photo is a classic, and I'm especially drawn to your artsy-fartsy cow. ;-)
