I'm fed up, tired, disgusted, enraged, a little drunk, and ready to go read another chapter of Jared Diamond's Collapse, before I do.

Post a pic here. Something you like, something you feel proud for having gotten. No comments. No critiques. No technical info. Just something good for everyone to enjoy.

Everybody!?

3. Thanks!
You posted while I was still fussing with one to kick-start some pics. (This is why I haven't hit 2500 posts in 3 years + on DU: I have the timing of a nearsighted dog lunging for a Milk-Bone...)

That's a beautiful image.:)

These brightened my day, and I'm sure did the same for a lot of us.

I stayed away from Jared Diamond last night, too. It's a magnificent book, but this just isn't the best time to be reading it, somehow.

Onward and upward.

32. New furniture -- old cat
Just got this couch, and Sterling has claimed it for himself! Have to admit, he looks good on it.

I also got a new coffee table, and took this reflection shot from it early in the morning.

Here's what the coffee table looks like without all the reflections on it.

And the full length of the sofa.

All I can say is -- I LOVE craigslist and internet shopping! :)

33. wow on that reflection!
that is am amazing shot.
It looks like you bought the sofa just for Sterling. He seems quite regal.
And that coffee table is quite cool! Are they little footstools or stoarge 'bins'- Do they come out?

Congrats on the new furniture!

34. The reflection is coming in my door
I have a large window in my door, and aspen trees just outside (I'm on the second floor). That glass top of the table reflects the trees perfectly! And right now is the height of the fall colors.

The little round things with the white tops ARE footstools, on wheels. They open up for storage. I got that table off www.nyfurniture.net -- saw it and it was just perfect for what I needed! My nieces will use the footstools to sit on and have their own table to eat at when they come to visit.

I actually did have Sterling in mind when I bought the sofa -- I wanted something white or beige, so his hair wouldn't show up as much. And he really likes the new sofa -- he's sleeping on it right now!

38. Actually, paisley's been around for awhile...
She even had a photo in one of last year's contests, but particpates in DU only on rare occasions.

That photo was taken on the way back from our Olympic beaches trip. I think paisley's photo is far more compelling than the more-conventional images I came up with:

(I've got to stop getting myself into photo shoots with women from DU -- I seem to always wind up getting my posterior kicked... ;-) )

39. Washington Memorial in Washington, DC

I believe it is one of my better shots. I really like it. I came out of a museum that day when the sun went down and just hit the button on my camera. It was a small film camera, nothing special. Sorry for the little spots, the pic is about 6 years old.
