1. I really like the color "tone" on these
Have a nice natural tone... and reds are a mo-fo..... that first pic is great and the shrooms' have a great warm cast to them. Look mighty tasty.
:hippie:

Did you get a speedlite with your 20D? I can't remember. Even if you didn't.... on the front left side of your camera is a fill-flash button. It kicks on your pop-up flash. I like the shadows on the shrooms'.... but next time your out try using the flash on a few pics. It'll fill in the shadows and stuff. You may not like it but I think you'll be surprised how well it can enhance some pics.

Everyone thinks flash is only for in-doors or night snaps. Nay Nay. I know.. I know... I was always knocking flash and saying "natural light" was the only way to go. Hey, I changed.

Yes, I do have the speedlite although I haven't used it much. I started reading the manual and got too confused. Maybe I'll try some of these fill-flash methods when we're on the road next weekend.

What I like about the red picture is that these little berries are only about a quarter inch across, but in this photo they look like apples.

3. You should learn it (the speedlite)
And yes, the manual is totally useless. It's bigger than the friggin' camera manual and very confusing. When I bought my little light rig the ma and pa store where I bought it gave me this instructional DVD. It was very helpful. If you want... I can let ya' borrow it. It's one hour long but worth the sitdown.

All the buttons and stuff make sense when you actually watch someone use it.

6. Canon 17-85 mm
The ones I posted are cropped and sharpened up some from these originals.

Are you enjoying your new camera? I liked seeing your photos from downtown.
