A dragonfly caught my eye

1. I really like dragonflies...

The past few years we've had quite a few around here, but this summer has been so cold and damp that they must have decided to go somewhere else. I haven't seen any in my garden, but here's one we saw on our Valdez trip last month taking a rest on a pipe support for the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. This guy was HUGH!!111, prehistoric-looking. I should have framed the picture a little differently for some size perspective.

I really had the wrong lens with me to get any good shots. I was trying for some more hummer shots but the dragonfly is the only thing that appeared. Excellents shots!

5. I LOVE dragonflies!

Can't wait to get a macro lens, we have alot of them because of the lakes around here. I saw one the other day with black wings and a blue body.
