Dueling Continents: late Summer in Alpenvorland
Okay, so I am seeing all these beautiful mountain shots, I figured I would post what lies at the end of my street...about a 5 minute walk from my house there is a Landschutzgebiet, (a land preserve/nature preserve) Looking south at the German Alpenvorland, near Garmisch-Partenkirschen. Taken at about 6pm. Light fades fast here!

1. Amazing
Thanks for sharing your 'hood!

At the end of our street there's a pharmacy and a pizza place. One of these days I'll post some panoramas of them.:dunce:

6. Strangely, that could be a handy confluence of businesses
Come to think of it, so could the pizzeria and the drug store.:o

3. Sure! It was about 70 today, clouds and sun
September better be mild, we had an awfully rainy late July, early-mid August.

You were saying your weather was much like ours - your scenery is, too. I enjoy seeing these as I've never been to Europe.

ed. It IS warmer, though. I've got to agree with Crisco on that one. It's just 55 here this morning.

Ed. -- Oh, of course -- HOUSTON! I did live there for seven years, but I don't remember it ever getting quite that hot. I was never more pleased to leave a place than I was to leave Houston after I graduated from college. :)

11. I loathe the heat here; no fun to be outside, and I keep waiting
for the pool (not refreshing) to start bubbling when it hits boiling. x(

12. Well, I do have to walk 5 minutes south
but if I go up to the third floor of my house and look south I can see the tops of the mountains. It is extremely beautiful here, in every season.
