Who prints B&W well (by mail)?
Does anyone know do does a good job developing and printing B&W film? The locals around here either manage to scratch the negatives or forget to blow the dust off before printing.

I recently found a great mom & pop camera store/lab that does a wonderful job. I'd bet that there is one close to you..... you're probably just not aware of it. By mail? I have a couple of links that I can probably dig up for you but I'd try the local route first. Let me know if you really need a "by mail" place and I'll go looksie on my other hard drive for info.
:hi:

2. The local place is Fairview...
...and they are the ones I was complaining about. The local photo chain sends them there.

I use Ilford XP-2 sometimes and that can be developed at a color lab. Good for the auto camera since it gives a nice tone to the sky without filters. Actually someone on another website recommended someone on the west coast.

3. Hmmm
How far are you from this place? Looks like they do everything "in-house" and are experienced with B&W developing. When I used Wolf/Ritz for B&W everything seemed to have a blue cast to it, not to mention the scratches, dust, and gunk. My local lab gets it correct... and I'm now using Ilford Pan 50 quite a bit.

You might give em' a try if you're close.

4. They use Fairview for B&W.
They do color prints in house, but not regular B&W. At least that is for the suburban stores. They have a main commercial store downtown Cleveland that is open busniess hours, which means there is no way for me to get there while they are open. I don't even know if they do B&W there anyway. I'll check. Maybe they can do mail-order.
