does anyone know if Minolta plans to make a digital SLR
that will use the M-mount lenses. I hate to go out and buy another brand, if Minolta plans to make an SLR, it would be nice to be able to use the lenses on two cameras.

3. Thanks
Too bad it only takes the Maxxum lenses (I have the old manual lenses). I wonder if there is any sort of adapter one can buy to convert the old M mounts to Maxxum mounts. (Don't worry, just wondering out loud, so to speak).

4. I couldn't remember which mount was which
I have a bunch of Minolta lenses too. I have 2 X700 bodies and learned on an old SRT202 but I couldn't remember what the mount was for them. I switched to Nikon a few years ago and recently got their D70 digital. All their old lenses with only a few exceptions will work on their digitals.

5. I have an X-7A (similar to X-700)
and 5 different lenses, was hoping to be able to use them with a digital, but no such luck at this point (I like to focus manually...)

6. Depending how much $$$ you have sunk into your lenses
you might want to think about updating to a Maxxum 7, which is fairly inexpensive, and some Sigma/Tamron/Tokina lenses for it. Both my Minolta bodies and all my Minolta or Minolta/compatible lenses give the option for manual or autofocus. I'm thinking about the 7D, but for the same money I can get a used Hassie kit in 9+ condition. Rock and a hard place time.

8. I Hear You!
I'm a Fujica user and I LOVE my Fujinon EBC M42s.

If the digital imaging industry wants me to begin to even think about forking over *any* further amount of money (I bought a medium-end one in 2001 and was sorely disappointed), they're going to have to come up with something that will allow me to use my babies.

9. The Minolta SLR is a really good value.
It comes with internal image stabilization, so you won't have to purchase lenses with stabilizers.

I'm considering one myself.
