Could Africans have discovered the Americas?

I have stumbled across a fascinating site while searching for information on this subject. I'm sure most of you have heard that the Chinese discovered the Americas long before Columbus, well guess what the Africans also discovered it! :D

1. I wouldn't be suprised to find out that Africans, Early Europeans

and Asians has been to the Americas well before Columbus.

I think it is very possible but I think that the political and social climates of the time were just not supportive of long term settlement....which was a boon to the Native Americans.
