So, I've had a resurgence of anxiety and panic symptoms after being symptom-free for about five years. Even five years ago, I NEVER had a problem flying...until this past weekend! My anxious thoughts are NOT about crashing, etc., but all about my own health - "What if I have a heart attack on the plane, could they land in time to get me to a hospital....what if I go crazy..." You know, standard anxiety stuff.
So I have to fly this weekend as well. Any quick tips to get me through? (I'm not on medication....yet....and don't have time to get to a doctor before I leave)
I should add that I didn't really have a full-blown panic attack on the plane, just a constant stream of right-on-the-edge anxiety.
I guess I'm looking for some assurance that people with anxiety DO fly successfully all the time.
