My mother was recently diagnosed with dementia.

She hasn't had a brain scan yet to determine the cause of it-it's too newly diagnosed-early stages, but she has lost appr. 75% of her vocabulary.
Has anyone dealt with this or knows of some medication or alternative therapy?
What kinds of things do I need to be especially aware of since I am the primary caregiver?
I'm taking care of her meds and watching her bath water temp.

There is a lot of info on that site including some stuff for care givers. They say that the most common cause of dementia is Alzheimers, so a lot of the info is geared toward that angle. That may or may not be the case for your mom.

It must be horrible to see a loved one deteriorate like that. I hope that your mom's condition improves and that the doctors can do something for her. :hug:
