I have gained 3 pounds!!!!!
For those following my story they now how important this is
(I'm a 5'7" anorexic male who weighed 104). I just weighed
myself and I've moved up to 107.

The Zyprexa is working!!!

Mood still sucks but, hey, one thing at a time.

Rejoice with me!

1. I gained 120 pounds on Zyprexa
I was 125 when I started. One year later, I was 245. I'm down to 210, now, mostly because I changed to Seroquel.

I was going to make a smart remark "only 3 pounds", but I'm glad for you. I've been following your story for a few days now. I'm rejoicing with you.

Then, I thought, maybe I shouldn't tell you about all of this weight because if you're anorexic you might not want to be "fat". But, then, I thought, hell, it's the truth. Then, I thought, my friend often says "Honesty without compassion is abuse." So, I thought I would write this paragraph.

So, tell me, should I not have replied with this message? I really don't know much about Anorexia.

4. Oh God Yes! Please Do!!!
If you had made the "only 3 pounds" comment I would have fell
out of my chair from laughing so hard. I loooove humor and
sarcasm.

Along with my ex (still my best friend and a truly amazing
person) and DU the only other thing that has gotten me through
my myriad problems is my sense of humor.

I joke that with all my issues I'm aiming for my own wing in
the psychiatric hall of fame. And when I go for my doctor's
appt. I am going to the "nuthouse." Humor/Sarcasm is *always*
welcome with me.

I have taken steps with regard to the fat issues: I don't keep
a scale in the house and only weigh myself at the doctor's office.
And I have taped up a bunch of pictures of my daughter over the
mirror in the bathroom (it's like I'm a vampire!), leaving
only a space on the medicine cabinet for my face, so that I
can't see my reflection of my body!

Thanks sooo much for the support!
:hi:

8. I call the building where I go "the nuthouse" too!
One building houses the university's out-patient mental health program, and I've called it the nuthouse for years. It makes me feel like I'm in control of my mental health care. I've taken back a derogatory term.

Congratulations on gaining weight! You go derbstyron!

2. That's excellent, derbstyron
Let's have a brownie hot fudge sunday in celebration. ;) If you were to hang around my mom's place for dinner every day we'd have you up to a healthy 150 in no time. My mom purposefully makes too much food then guilt trips you into eating more because she made it just for you. I've not been thin a day in my life.

6.  Hurray damit !
good you gotta get that stomache muscle working.....Eating may be one of the wierdest things we do as humans and the people who say they have the perfect diet are full of it. We have to stay healthy enough to do good things for the world.

Keep it up. It's hard, but take baby steps, one day at a time.
