I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing
As I write this, no one has posted here in the last 4 days. I'd hate to think that there are people who would like to post here but don't because the forum hasn't been very active, lately. At the same time, I'm hoping the reason no one is posting here is because they don't feel the need to.

So y'all check in and let me know how you are doing.

I've been doing pretty good lately. The gambling jones got to me a little bit there when I was in Las Vegas, but I put that in its place before I got hurt. Since I've been out on the road, I've realized that for a long time there I was sort of living in a state of mild depression. Nothing serious, just a long term case of the blahs. I know now that it was because my life was boring me and that ain't no way to live. I thrive on new things happening to me, even though it may be a bit stressful at times. I need to shake things up from time to time.

But, yeah, overall I'm doing pretty good.

And that's what you are...a sweetheart. We truckers don't make a lot of money, but we try to spend it in the right way.

2. daughter is reaching out for some meds. plus
she has been through a lot of money problems lately that we have been lucky enough to be able to help her with. to her credit, she is slowly paying off her credit card bill that boyfriend from hell ran up. we offered to settle it for her provided that she helped us sue the asshole. i admit that was pure revenge motive on my part, and knew it would be quite a pain in the ass. sorta glad she said no. she has worked out a payment plan that will keep her paying for the rest of her life, but.....

she is registered for school, and hopefully the school can help her find a job closer to home. she is driving nearly an hour each way for a $9/hr part time job. she likes the work but hates the boss. the majority of her money troubles were car related, beating the snot out of beaters with that long commute.

she has been taking klonipin for a while, and was unhappy with the attitude of the doc she was seeing. she has a new doc, and is talking about an AD. i'm so happy that she feels free to talk to me about that stuff, and hope i can help her out with that whole ball of wax. she is also having a lot of pain problems, and i think probably also has fibro, like her little sister and i. she is getting the workup, and we shall see.

i'm just really happy that she is reaching out. she struggles so. we struggle with how much to help her, but we have built a lot of trust lately. a few car repair bills is a small price to pay for that.

really happy for you, tobin. keep it up!

5. I'm glad you think so much of your daughter
and I hope she realizes how lucky she is to have parents like you.

It takes some time to get things sorted out sometimes, but it sounds like your daughter is well on her way. Here's to progress. :toast:

I don't know what an EEG is, but it sounds like something medical. Keep us posted.

7. EEG is a test that records brainwaves
It's part of the follow-on to my last hospital stay, the MH resident insisted. In general, it's a way to look at brain function. Apparently, being asleep during the test provides different information than when you are awake and for this one I am supposed to be asleep. I am not sure if they have a specific concern or if this is just something pro forma that the resident wants as bakground.

9. i know you are a vet. is there anything in your record that
would lead them to think that you had a brain injury? i would think that is what they are looking for.

i had one many years ago, and it does indeed suck. the test is nothing. they knock you out for it. but you are supposed to stay up for 24 hours before the test. they want to see the very deep sleep patterns. it sort of removes the background noise. it kind of surprises me that they don't have a better way to do this stuff by now.

take care, friend. hope they can find something to help you.

10. Not really,
And I'm not really sure why the eeg was needed.

I hope they got what they wanted I couldn't fall asleep. As tired as I was/am I thought that would be easy, but it wasn't. Staying up all night for an appointment at half-past noon sucked

11. i didn't fall asleep for mine, either.
i was preggers at the time, and they didn't want to give me the knock out meds that they usually used. they seemed happy with the results, tho.
and i wouldn't be positive that you didn't sleep, either. i had a sleep test for narcolepsy, and it was testing how i fell asleep. i never thought that i had slept, but i did fall asleep 5 out of 6 times.
hope they got some useful info.
