Interesting petition at Mass
One of the petitions at Mass this evening was for "those who feel marginalized by the church" as well as feel disconnected, feel that it's not meeting their needs, and doesn't reflect their values. The petition expressed the hope that the church could do a better job of reaching out to such people.

I was serving Mass, so I was right up there by the priest and the deacon. I managed to keep a straight face when that one was read. I'm glad no one could see my thought bubble - something along the lines of if they really wanted to do that the first step would be to ask for the resignations of about 5/6 of the US Bishop's Conference.
