Gingrich converts to Catholicism

I learned Monday evening that former Speaker Newt Gingrich has converted to Catholicism.

Normally I'd feel a bit of joy that someone has joined the church, but I cannot help but be sickened by this. I cannot help but feel like the church is being used again.

2. Honestly, I can't figure out how he was allowed.

I mean, he must be living in perpetual sin with his 3rd wife - how has he managed to swing absolution for that? Is his first wife dead?
