(OT) Joe Sestak (PA-7 D cand) to give Dem radio address
JK is supporting Joe and I have talked about him here so I thought you all might be interested. Plus maybe you can help me out - when is this broadcast, how can I listen, is there a podcast? (I feel so dumb!) I posted this in the PA forum but no answers so far. (I want to send it out to other folks but need the specifics.)

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14301381 /

It's House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's week to choose who will give the Democratic response to President Bush's radio address, and a Pelosi aide says she has tapped House candidate Joe Sestak, a former Navy vice-admiral who is now challenging GOP Rep. Curt Weldon in Pennsylvania's 7th district. Sestak will talk about national security.

The thing I find most interesting - besides that it's my guy, woo-hoo! - is that Joe isn't even elected yet, and in the reality-based world, his race is still a tough putt. Is this normal in an election year, to let a candidate do this radio address?

For more info about Joe, check out his website - www.sestakforcongress.com

I am exhausted from posting all day on JK's diary at dailykos, so I can't stick around tonight, but I'll check back tomorrow. Thanks to anyone who can post the info about the broadcast!

That's where I listen, when I do. It should be on at 6:15 p.m. Eastern on Saturday. It runs from 6:15 to 6:30. The chimp first, of course, then the Dem.

I suppose chimp's statement will be a version of terra-terra-terra. It's the only tune he knows anymore. :eyes: The good thing about it is that people aren't buying it anymore.

edited to add: It's still only an audio, mind you, even though it's on TV. They just put up a graphic and play the audio.

Democrats choose Sestak to respond to BushThe political novice who seemingly came from nowhere to mount a serious challenge against U.S. Rep. Curt Weldon (R., Pa.) is delivering the Democratic response to President Bush's weekly radio address tomorrow.

Joe Sestak, a retired three-star admiral who commanded a battle group during the war in Afghanistan, is expected to criticize the war in Iraq as a costly diversion in the country's efforts to fight terrorism. Sestak, who grew up in Springfield, Delaware County, returned to the district in January after 31 years of military service.

2. Sometimes the DNC website
Has a link to the audio after. Most likely Sestak's campaign will have a copy. You might want to email them and ask - suggest that some bloggers would be interesting in posting it.

Damn, he has a great voice, doesn't he?

(I've caught him letting slip "idears" once in awhile, too. Hmm.)
