Page 418, (Tour of Duty) -"When Boston's WLVI-TV hosted a debate between the fifth distict's two Congressional candidates, John Kerry and Paul Cronin, the war dominated the debate. Kerry alone snagged the next day's headline, with his demand that the U.S. withdrawal from South Vietnam hinge upon the return of the POWs."

Wasn't Kerry's concern in talking to the Vietnamese concerning the POWs (I think it's mentioned in the Senate Q and A.)?

Even if O'Neil accurately remembered the Cavett debate where Kerry cleaned his clock, how would the opinion of a private citizen 27 year old man with no public office make any difference to either the US or the Vietnamese decisions.
