Disturbing SBVT harrasment story

Jist of story: Trusted posters on the Huffington blog, posted phone numbers of some SBVT people and the American Spectator has an article bemoaning their treatment. I seriously smell a rat.

None of us are trusted posters even after many moderate, well behaved posts - while there are always people in first on EVERY Kerry post who spew SBVT type lies.

I think this harrassment of the SBVT is to hurt Kerry - it's likely illegal and from the story of the SBVT who turned, I think the Kerry group is possibly open to people recanting.

buy a word of it. Their effectiveness has been disrupted, so they're trying the old Democrats do it too routine on this issue. I'm absolutely convinced some posters there are Swift Liar supporters.

They might have done this, not because they like Kerry, but because they hate the Right. You guys know what I mean -- the Chomskyites who believe everything said on Democracy Now! and think Bush was behind 9/11. It's possible THEY did it, and they're ALL OVER Huff Post. We can't deny the certifiables on our side (although not really our side, since they're not really Democrats). Why would the Right do this? It seems pointless. After all, people knew where O'Neil was and he was subsequently harassed near his home. The truth is we don't know, but there IS thuggery on the Left -- you can't deny that.

4. Yeah - but remember how Rather got taken down. People get USED by Rove

to perform in an action that appears to have been made against the poor victim (like Bush with the AWOL documents) and the story gets spun accordingly.

It would justify the wingnuts' behavior. Even if lefty freepers were harrassing them, the article, if only in the quotes, seems to imply that they are people concerned about attacks on Kerry:

A man calmly told him, "I want to know why you lied about John Kerry... Traitors must die. We will get you. You can't get away with this."

Calmly? The average person doesn't know anything about lefty freepers. I do, why would a lefty freeper calmly ask this question?

Also, they are liars, despicable and disgusting, but not traitors - I never see that used here - but it's everywhere on the right.

I simply don't think that they are Kerry supporters and I would be immensely shocked if Kerry had anything to do with it, which is the implication of the AS piece. Not only shocked, but I would question everything I ever thought about Kerry.

If it is LW thugs, Kerry may have to speak out against it.

3. That was my guess too - should someone get this AS article to

the Patriot group or to Kerry. (If they are NOT SBVT, they likely are looney left. We are the majority of the pro-Kerry posters and even if we got that info, I feel safe to say that none of us would do this.

7. Well, I admit I took a look at the link. Three of those guys live in

Virginia (gulp). I would NEVER call anyone -- I'm too shy. In fact, I would probably smile and say hello if I saw any of them walking down the street -- I suppose the manners in me supercede everything else. I think you have to be either paid to do it or mentally unbalanced to call a stranger who lied about another stranger.

But I wouldn't say hello and smile. In fact, I live a town over from Corsi - who has an unlisted number. When I first heard he liked in Denville, I stared at his photo and tried to remember if I ever saw him - Denville has some nice restaurants and stores, so I have gone there. If I ever saw him and was sure it was him, the most hard core thing I would do is to take out my "Kerry is my President" button and prominently wear it (thanks DD).

I also think we are typical of Kerry supporters.

11. Okay, maybe you guys are right that the Right is behind this

A weird thing just happened on DailyKos. There was a diary about a Marine who appeared in F 9/11, who was a recruiter trying to get people to join the military at a shopping mall (not sure if you guys remember that scene). Anyway, he was just killed in Iraq. Well, somebody with the id clarke7 wrote something absolutely hideous, saying that it was justice that he was killed, blah, blah, blah. It sounded like somebody from the Right doing what HE thinks is an impression of a lefty -- their impression is that people on the Left want to lose in Iraq AND want their "enemies" from the Right dead. Damn -- that was sick, and I just went back over and notice the entire thread has disappeared, but that was after 18 of us troll rated the guy. So you guys have a point here. There is a right wing campaign to discredit Kerry and the liberal blogosphere, and they're using the blogs to do this.

Question: who is elmerfudd?
