is an extremely important wake up call for the future of our party and our nation.

I want our Democratic leaders to hear it - and DU is the only way I think it has a chance to do that.

Those of you have accounts at other boards are welcome to post the piece in its entirety. In JK Forum I trust. ;)

1. I am very upset about what has been going on. This is not new.
They have done it with radio and TV, now they are going after print. My local paper is owned by Scafe- who is a rabid Republican and his paper reflects his POV. It has a major influence on peoples attitudes and votes in my area. I refuse to by it, but many people are use to reading a paper and believe what is reported and commented on in that paper. I saw your post yesterday about the Philadelphia papers and it saddens me to think they have their grip on a major city's newspapers. I just don't know what can be done at this point. They have almost achieved what they want to achieve. There next conquest is going to be the college campuses. They want to rid the country of liberalism and going after those that teach and reach our children and teach diversity and challenge power are going to be singled out and eventually forced out. I see it happening and I hear it played out on the radio and TV daily. I wouldn't expect former Pres. Clinton to do much, he also manipulated the media's messages when he was in office. Bush has just taken it to a higher level.
I am open for suggestions. I am willing to contact our Dem leaders and ask if this is being addressed. In the mean time, I always tell people that more than ever, not to believe what they hear and check everything out. Maybe, the organizations and groups and sites that strive for accuracy and fairness need to be encouraged to be more vocal and begin a major outreach program aimed at the general population. I think I will start donating more to these groups and organizations.

2. Hard to imagine that FAIR and MediaMatters have no sway on Dem leaders

If they can't effect the party leaders who they are most inclined to assist, then there is something TERRIBLY wrong.

3. it may be a power thing. The media bias only matters to the party
out of power and the Dem's are so over confident they think they don't have to worry about it because they are in in November.

7. That's what I'm afraid of - November will be too late.
I have no doubt that the Dems have no message, and the GOPs are more trusted to defend America memes will be in heavy rotation thru November.

4. The problem is that most people
don't realize that many local papers are owned by corporate media giants.
