Army of Shadows - Salon's review.
Edited on Sat Apr-29-06 12:39 PM by Mass
It is an old movie from the 60s, so I have seen it many times when I was a kid, but it is worth all the good the author is writing. I dont think it is an easy movie to find, but if you have the opportunity one day, watch it.

1. Thanks for the tip. I see if I can find it to purchase on-line.
I found another great movie that way called, "The Candidate" by Gore Vidal. That is a great political movie.

2. was that the one with Henry Fonda?
If so, that was a good one, I agree. It showed that dirty tricks are nothing new.

4. It was the one with Henry Fonda and Cliff Robertson. It has all the
dirty tricks in it. I have watched it at least four times. Some of the election process is outdated, but the politics and tricks are as relive nt today as they were in the sixties when the film was made. In some ways, the Fonda character reminded me of Kerry. He was too honest to resort to the smears to win.

The Robert Redford film was also good, showing the making of a candidate.

9. Yeah, I have never seen that one.
And, sadly, it's not on DVD. I should have seen the play when I had the chance. Maybe I'll read it.
