Street Battle in Baghdad Smacks of Open Civil War, Kerry Was Right
Street Battle in Baghdad Smacks of Open Civil War, Kerry Was Right
April 18th, 2006 @ 4:52 pm

Ignore the street battle in Baghdad, that Reuters reports today “smacks of open civil war,” because the Bush administration refuses to admit that Iraq has sunken into a civil war and our troops are stuck smack dab in the middle of it.

Snipers held rooftop positions as masked Sunni Arab insurgents said they were gearing up for another open street battle with pro-government Shi’ite militiamen in Baghdad’s Adhamiya district on Tuesday.

{snip}

A U.K. news source reports that the situation is so disastrous, that the U.S. military actually “planning a “second liberation of Baghdad” to be carried out with the Iraqi army when a new government is installed.” Talk about missions not accomplished… “President George W Bush and Donald Rumsfeld, the defence secretary, are under intense pressure to prove to the American public that Iraq is not slipping into anarchy and civil war.”

Too late… John Kerry was right, when he said in his NY Times OP/ED on April 5, “Now we find our troops in the middle of an escalating civil war.” When is the Bush administration going to admit they have failed their mission, they have failed our troops, they have misled the American public and it’s time to leave Iraq, as John Kerry has stated.

1. They also wouldn't admit that there was an insurgency for a year.
They are SO less than useless!!! The first step to recovery is to acknowledge you have a problem, and they never will do it. There's one thing Americans hate more than anything -- and that's being repeatedly lied to.

I had e-mailed a friend of mine about the Iraq petition, and she told me she was listening to a conservative talk radio host, and he said we were going to lose and * was just letting more people die for nothing. Is there open rebellion within conservative ranks? I had no idea. I thought they were still for this war, but I guess we're beginning to see cracks.

Of course, Kerry has proven to be right about just about everything, hasn't he?

5. They are too cowardly to look reality in the face!
So they go on living in the Land of Denial and let our troops go through that meat grinder for nothing.

JK is not afraid to look at reality, and knows that the time for military action is over and the time for a political solution is at hand!

Stuck in Adhamiya; Area Sealed Off Since Monday Morning
I've been stuck at my aunt's house in Adhamiya since Sunday night. If you had followed the news, you would have learned by now that Adhamiya, which is the largest Sunni district in Baghdad, is witnessing fierce clashes since Sunday night, mostly between armed groups in police uniform, who had attempted to enter the area, and Adhamiya residents.

The district has been sealed off and no one can leave or enter the area. Electric power has been cut off for the last 48 hours, and the fighting severely damaged our street generator this morning.

I'm on dial up now so I have to sign off. I probably won't be able to post again until tomorrow night. Hopefully the situation would have calmed down by then; it's extremely tense at the moment.

4. Some needs to check
to see is Bush is wearing ear plugs. Or it could be that the hearing device is hindering his ability to hear anyone but Rove.

a collector's item to me!!

My most cherished memorabilia item from the 2004 campaign is the Rolling Stone endorsement issue, with Hunter Thompson's column.
