Ok, I smell something rotten in Denmark
This has to do with Webb running for barfbag's seat in Virginia. It is barfbag isn't it, or is that Santorum, oh nevermind they both are reek.

So anyway posted the links to the article that Webb wrote in USA and another link where he dissed Clinton out in another forum, because someone said I was pushing RW talking points (LOL). Well he came back and of course told me I was wrong and that my links were dead.

Those links were not dead when I posted them. So here is my :tinfoil: question. Do you think Webb is trying to hide damaging articles that would piss off a lot of Dems ? I do.

1. If these are the links you posted...
http://www.jameswebb.com/articles/NPR/npr8%2024%2004.htm

http://www.jameswebb.com/articles/variouspubs/usatoday.htm

... then your interlocutor is a liar and a troll. They work absolutely fine.

3. OK yeah, both those are dead
Use the ones I posted to you - Webb is still proudly displaying his hatred for John Kerry on his website, and DUers deserve to know that. x(

4. Did you copy the links from another site
If yes, you did not copy them fully.

I was able to find the second one on Webb site.

6. Is that the one

If yes, it is a classical pb I fall for each time. I copy what is in the document and it is often truncated. You have to click on the link and copy the full link.

7. Now that is weird
I am bad enough with computer knowledge. But it did come up for me when I posted because I always check the link in the preview so I make sure it works.

Oh well, thanks Mass.

8. Frankly,
it's Webb and a lot more. Keep up this constant propping up of unknown friggin candid, touting their non-establishment credentials, and the day after election day, they're going to be shocked when they turn out to be Republicans.

The other thing is what is up with the "kill the useless Democratic Party shit"? "Oh the Democrats don't have an agenda," "Why are the Democrats..." When will the Democrats...," and some are making these statement while claiming to support: a Democrat.

9. I really wonder more and more about that
Now with the article on his anti-feminist attitude, I really really seriously question if he is a Democrat. He actually seems like a conservative Republican. (McCain was Navy too - are they friends. Maybe he is doing this to help McCain (who apparently is suppose to inherit Rove) damage Allen before the election.

What do we know (besides his hatred for Kerry)
1) The last candidate he endorsed was Allen - who is a pretty conservative candidate and he had already been Governor - so that was known.
2) He disagrees with the war in Iraq - but I don't know his current position.
3) He is not for equal rights for women - unless he changed his mind.
4) Did he comment on gays in the military? (This could fire up DU - it's more important to them than smearing our candidate for President.

11. And he's a hypocrite on war
He seems to believe it was unforgivable to criticize the Vietnam war, but OK to run as an anti-Iraq war candidate. I posted this previously, but it points to Webb's hypocrisy:

Why is he opposed to the Iraq war? The Vietnam war materialized under similar circumstances, a lie. What's his problem?

When Kerry pointed to the atrocities, he didn't say it was the fault of the soldiers he merely pointed to what they were doing and the leadership failings.

How is that different from criticizing the Abu Ghraib incident (and it wasn't isolated)? It isn't. What about the entire U.S. sanctioned torture debate going on now? Listen to how many times in criticizing Iraq people wind up clarifying that they are not speaking against the troops, but speaking out against the war. Look how many times the Repugs try to make criticism of the war the same as criticism of the troops. It was the same then as it is now: Kerry was dealing with the same breed of assholes.

There are veterans, human rights groups and average citizens screaming about this. Wrong is wrong. Webb is an asshole.

12. Plus Iraq is more important than Vietnam
Like it or not, they've got a lot of oil, and we need it (since we have an idiot for president who isn't holding industry to the fire for bringing down consumption, but I digress). And not just Iraq, but the whole region. We have to have that damned oil. And the region is where Wahabbism came from AND Israel, the only true democracy there, which we want to protect. If Turkey joins the EU some day, then the Middle East will become for Europe, our traditional allies, what Mexico is to us -- right on the border. There's the Persian Gulf, an extremely important area for commerce. I could go on and on. In the end, Vietnam falls under the sphere of influence of China, and they don't have any natural resources that we most desperately need. No, the only thing Vietnam had was "Communists", and we were so blinded in our need to defeat the Soviet Union that we failed to realize that we should have CONCENTRATED on the Soviet Union, not a minor battle over a country that wanted independence from non-stop colonialism. Is Vietnam all that we could hope for today? No. Freedom of speech is greatly restricted and there still are violations of human rights (given Abu Ghraib we can't complain about that anymore); but if China liberalized on those fronts, so will Vietnam. And, in the end, they're at peace and not making any trouble for the rest of the world. Webb is an idiot who will NOT let go of the fact that his time in Vietnam was all for nothing. JK was smart enough and honest enough to figure that out while he was still there. Given his dreams of being like JFK I, a WWII hero, this must have been painful for him, but that's just another example to his high quality of character. He's just not one who would stay bitter like Webb has chosen to do.

10. Did anybody see him on Colbert Report?
He was pretty terrible. Stephen even pointed out that Allen is "dumb as a post," but Webb managed to look yet more dumb.

Sigh.
