Kerry v. * frontpaged on AOL (w/ video and poll)!!
Hi guys,

Go to aol.com right now, and you will see a picture of Kerry and * as their big headline. When you click in it has a poll and the video of Kerry's interview on This Week:

http://articles.news.aol.com/news/article.adp?id=20060123102809990002&ncid=NWS00010000000001

I have to say that this tickled me pink!! I mean AOL decided that Kerry's interview on ABC was THAT good to make it THE headline.

4. A wonderful surprise!
I was very happy to see this when I signed on to AOL a few minutes ago. Sightings of Kerry in the MSM are few and far between, so I'm really happy to see this!

5. Wow! That's way cool.
The question "Would you change your 2004 vote" ... 20% said they voted for Kerry in '04 but would change their vote to Bush. ARE THESE PEOPLE INSANE? WTF? The fact that these questions are even being asked is pretty amazing. It shows that the issue is so much broader than with just those of us on "librul" websites.

9. That question....
... was awkwardly phrased, easy to misunderstand, and confusing.

karynnj pointed out below. Bush supporters will want to give the impression that Kerry is losing support. It doesn't matter that they vote this way because Bush would be down anyway, and even though this probably lowers that number, it's more important to show a shift away from Kerry. But really who is that crazy?

7. The reason is you could say stay the same or change to either one
Edited on Mon Jan-23-06 07:32 PM by karynnj
If you want to have the most impact and don't care about lying you check change to Bush - implying you voted for Kerry. It's pretty poorly designed - it should ask both then and now. The important thing is they are asking it with Kerry's very strong BL line which IS believed by huge %

11. Taking an AOL Poll is like taking a flu shot...only makes you sick,
doesn't help...really.

I did the poll, but clearly it was freeped. I dropped AOL the week of the '04 Election when their little electoral map projection showed Bush with ALL the Electoral votes in the entire country, EXCEPT for Washington, D.C...which it granted to Kerry. And I called and TOLD them why when I cancelled. And you kow how AOL is about people cancelling their service...they offered me everything BUT a victory for Kerry, if I'd stay on as an AOL customer. Needless to say, it was NOT an acceptable offer.

I miss AOL (and its Right-of-Right biased polls not an iota!
