Did anyone see Hardball tonight
Chris Matthews couldn't find enough ways to snark at the Dems on the Judiciary Committee for their performance at the Alito hearings. (Which I dispute, btw.) He hated Kennedy and Biden in particular. But Tweety did make one interesting comment to the effect that it's too bad that the Dems best questioners, Kerry and Boxer, weren't on that committee for the Dems. I guess that's a back-handed compliment of sorts.

1. I didn't hear him say that
I wasn't really paying attention. I did, though, think I heard him say something about the CAP thing being totally off the wall because what does something that he did 30 years ago in college have to do with his ability to do his job today?

2. Honestly, Tweety is clueless
Just clueless. He almost sounded like he wanted Dems to go into their corner and think about what they did to Mrs. Alito to make her cry. (Bad Democrats, bad, bad. That Teddy Kennedy, OMG, what a bully. Not only did he bring tears to Mrs. Alito's eyes, he probably also made his kids antsy and his Mom woozy. Bad Teddy.)

3. Everytime I hear that about Cap, I get more and more pissed.
I remember very well what I did in college, and I'm not much younger than Alito.
And, I majored in partying, and still remember.

I have no patience for these lies.

4. That is a nice compliment
especially as he thinks (by the name of his show) that he asks the tough questions. It's nice that he sees Kerry is very good, even though he doesn't go for theatrics and stays very cool.

5. Kerry is definitely what was missing in those hearings.

:(

on edit - so was Boxer.
Think of how she grilled Condi and Bolton.
I could just imagine her sitting there with
all of her posters with all of Alito's quotes, and making him answer to everyone of them.
But then again, Alito doesn't answer questions, he just tries to talk over the questions.

7. somewhere I read that when John Edwards was on that cmte,
he was particularly good at cross-examining. Wonder why! (not). It would be nice if he were still there.

9. I think SFRC Committee Kerry would have asked really good
questions of Alito and gotten him to trip up a little. The Kerry who questions Hector Barreto at SBA hearings would have crushed him like a bug.

But then again Hector is a MIDSLAB, a M*therf*cking, Idiotic, Douchebag, Sh*tsucking, Lying, Arsehole, Bastard. (MIDSLAB -- TM and copyright 2006, TayTay -- all rights reserved.) Ahm, I don't think I like Hector at all. My greatly and deeply esteemed Junior Senator does not seem to hold him in high esteem either.

Sigh! I hope that Sen. Kerry gets to make a floor speech about Alito. That would be great to hear. (btw, I think I am a wee bit testy lately. Just a hunch.)

12. You know what, they continue to bring this up whenever they mention
Kennedy.I am sick of it. It"s time to smack them down for this. This incident happened well over 30-35 years ago and I would bet most of these Repub idiots have not a clue what it was all about. Anyway, it was investigated and he was cleared of any wrong doing in this poor woman's death. How dare they continue to allude to his being guilty of a crime and that he got away with it. All the good he has done for our party and all Americans and they continue to promote the smears and repeat the lies and no one defends him. This is just not right.

14. Lovely. Somebody died in that accident and they exploit it.
A young woman died and that's not something people should make cheap jokes about. Creeps.
