Lois Murphy. Pennsylvania. 72 Hours.
(email from Keeping America's Promise. Will you wonderful non-PA JK supporters help out JK to help PA? And help take back Congress!)

Also note, Lois Murphy is endorsed by Emily's List.

Dear ---,

In the final 72 hours of 2005, Keeping America's Promise -- the leadership committee I helped launch -- is pulling out all the stops to help women candidates locked in crucial, must-win elections across America. Lois Murphy from your own state of Pennsylvania is at the top of that list. She's committed to health care reform, fiscal discipline, the right to privacy, and breaking the power of the special interests.

I hope you will act right now to rush a critical year-end donation to help a promising Democrat defeat an ethics-challenged Karl Rove Republican in a critical swing district.

Make a contribution

It's all part of our 2006 Fight Back strategy. We absolutely refuse to let any Democratic candidate go into the 2006 elections vulnerable to the fear and smear campaigning that has become the trademark of the DeLay/Rove Republicans. We won't stand for Swift Boat-style attacks against anyone. That's why it's so critical for you to help impressive women candidates like Lois Murphy and to help fully fund our Fight Back initiatives.

Make a contribution

With your immediate help, Lois Murphy can defeat Republican incumbent Jim Gerlach. He is, beyond a doubt, the kind of rubber-stamp Republican that Karl Rove and Tom DeLay think we need more of in Washington. In fact, Rove was featured at a $100,000 Gerlach fundraiser, and the DeLay money machine has funneled $30,000 in direct contributions to Gerlach.

In the "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" Washington built by the indicted GOP Majority Leader, Gerlach returned the favor. He's the only Pennsylvania member of Congress to give money to the DeLay Legal Defense Fund.

Pennsylvania can't count on Gerlach. That's why I hope you'll consider helping Lois Murphy win this crucial swing district election.

Make a contribution

Make no mistake about it. We can only win in 2006 if we support our candidates at every turn and fight back against every unfounded attack and reckless charge. Keeping America's Promise is playing a vitally important role in helping to produce 2006 victories forged in strong convictions and powered by an unshakable determination to win.

I encourage you to help Lois Murphy and other women candidates locked in tough races. And I urge you to lend your immediate support to Keeping America's Promise's 2006 Fight Back Fund. There is so much at stake.

With those two steps, you can make 2006 the year we change direction, take power out of the hands of those who have abused it, and move America forward.

Sincerely,

John Kerry

P.S. Lois Murphy in Pennsylvania, Maria Cantwell in Washington, and Debbie Stabenow in Michigan are all in need of your immediate support. Please help as many of them as you can - and don't forget to add a special donation to sustain the take-no-prisoners, no-holds-barred efforts of Keeping America's Promise's 2006 Fight Back Fund.

Here's what Emily's List has to say about Lois Murphy:

Lois Murphy is seeking a rematch with the two-term incumbent Rep. Jim Gerlach in Pennsylvania's sixth district - a swing district that is one of the Democrats' most promising opportunities to pick up a GOP House seat. Murphy narrowly lost to Gerlach in 2004 after a nasty campaign in which he outspent her and, shockingly, attempted to link her to the Taliban! As an attorney, Lois Murphy has built a reputation as a strong advocate for women, families, and small businesses. She is off to a strong early start, raising critical early funds and hammering away on Gerlach's ultra-conservative record. But Republicans are determined to help this reliable rubber-stamp for the Bush agenda and have sent in Karl Rove and Laura Bush to raise an estimated hundreds of thousands of dollars for Gerlach. Lois Murphy needs help to raise $3 million to unseat this right-wing Republican and bring her mainstream values to Congress.

1. Thanks for posting this!
I will put in $25 in the general fund. (Unless you think that Lois Murphy should have the whole thing. I trust your judgement.)

Thanks!

2. Hee hee. Mine is all going to Lois. BUT the others are good, too.
I trust JK's judgement. If he is backing them then they deserve backing. IMHO.

So general fund is good.

And Thank You!
