In calling the Holocaust "a myth," as he did last week, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has drunk from the bloody cup shared by the malevolent enemies of equality and justice, the ultra right-wingers and haters who live in history's shadows.

This latest outburst gives the Bush administration a second opportunity to send a strong message in support of Israel and of the global community, and to make a clear statement against bigotry and hatred. This time, President Bush should not let the moment pass — as he did after Ahmadinejad called for Israel to be "wiped off the map" in an October 28 hate-filled speech.

The Bush administration — which so often answers challenges with confrontational language — took this occasion to whisper. The lesson of the last century and more is clear: Acts of hatred often follow words of hatred, and the best way to head off hideous deeds is to respond swiftly and with certainty. 1. Og Gawd, I love this woman.

Honestly. When you think of all the crap she had to take over the years from people who wanted her to be either silent or a sort of Republican doormat, it's just amazing to think that she is still in there, still expressing herself strongly and still fighting.

I just flat out love the woman. She is warm, funny and one of the most generous people on the planet. (Generosity of the spirit as well.)

I can somewhat she why because, even as someone impressed by JK's intregrity and brilliance, every new thing I've ever read about Teresa makes me more certain that he really is the exceptional person I thought him to be.
