Global Warming Propaganda & The Kerry, Waxman call to investigate
Global Warming Propaganda: The White House Manipulation Through the Oil Industry
10 June 2005

Yesterday, I reported that John Kerry and Henry Waxman have called for an investigation into “the extent to which White House officials and political appointees at agencies have manipulated the science on global warming.”

To The Point on KCRW, the NPR station in Santa Monica, CA aired an informative debate on the subject today.

Oil Industry Dampens Global Warming

Ford, British Airways and other multinationals have now called on the world’s richest nations to take urgent action on global warming. At the G-8 summit next month Prime Minister Tony Blair wants a global plan to cut greenhouse emissions, but President Bush is resisting. Newly uncovered documents show that the oil industry has played an important role in White House policy making. Have the economic concerns of big oil trumped the science of climate change? WASHINGTON

EDITOR OF CLIMATE REPORTS RESIGNS Philip A. Cooney, chief of staff to President Bush's Council on Environmental Quality, has resigned, White House officials said. Mr. Cooney's resignation came two days after documents revealed that he had edited government climate reports in ways that cast doubt on the link between greenhouse-gas emissions and rising temperatures. Mr. Cooney has no scientific training. Dana Perino, a deputy White House press secretary, said the decision was unrelated to revelations about the documents. Mr. Cooney did not respond to e-mail or phone messages left at his home. Andrew C. Revkin (NYT)

I assume he wanted to spend more time with his family. Patho-f***ingly-logical liars. They cannot be straight about ANYTHING.

2. They are such whores
That was a blatant abuse of power. It is completely disgusting how the * Admin and the Rethugs in Congress won't admit to anything that harms their chief financial backers.
